Other Maine stories from the AP Wire
NEWRY, Maine — Sunday River ski resort´s proposal for night skiing might have the support of skiers, but not everyone else is on board.
Some nearby residents are worried about the lighting, noise and security concerns associated with having the resort stay open later.
Resort engineer Joseph Aloisio Jr. told a public hearing in Newry this week that the resort plans to light 34 of its 668 acres. Shielded tower lights would be placed atop 20-foot-high poles along Escapade, Dreammaker, Southway and Broadway trails.
