Gas prices fall in Maine
By The Associated Press, wire report

Gas prices are dropping a bit in Maine.

AAA of Northern New England said the average price for regular unleaded has dropped about 8 cents to $2.89 a gallon.

That is compared to $2.96 a month ago.

A year ago, the average price-per-gallon was $2.58.

The decline in gas prices is good news for drivers as we head into the Labor Day weekend. AAA said more than 35 million Americans nationwide will travel 50 miles or more from home over the holiday.
