Home heating oil prices in Maine remained stable this past week as mild temperatures helped keep fuel bills down.
The state energy office said the average cash price for No. 2 heating oil was $2.31 a gallon statewide. That's unchanged from last week and a penny lower than at this time last year.
Prices ranged from a high of $2.45 a gallon in western Maine to a low of $2 in the southwestern part of the state.
The average price for kerosene was unchanged at $2.73 a gallon, while propane was up 3 cents to $2.33 when purchased for domestic heating.
