By News 8 WMTW report January 30, 2007 03:29 PM

BRUNSWICK - A 2 1/2-hour standoff with police in Brunswick has ended with a 21-year-old man's arrest.

Police said they were called to 3 Perryman Drive twice on Tuesday morning -- once at 4 a.m. and then again an hour later. They said that when they arrived the second time, they found Phillip Keller barricaded inside a room, drunken, out of control and threatening to kill himself, his family and police.

Special response teams from Brunswick police and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Department were able to get Keller's mother, brother and sister out of the home safely.

Police evacuated about 50 people from nearby homes during the incident.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., Keller left the building and was arrested by police. He faces charges of terrorizing, criminal mischief and creating a police standoff, and he could face more charges.

Police said they removed five firearms, as well as ammunition, from the home.

Keller is being held on $2,500 cash bail. He is expected to appear in Portland District Court on Wednesday.
