AUGUSTA - The Maine Republican Party is going to the Internet to bring its message directly to people throughout the state.

Maine GOP Chairman Joe Bruno will host a new local access program called "Talking Maine."

It will be available on 22 local access networks statewide and will also be available on the Internet at YouTube.com. The program will feature special guests discussing some of Maine's most pressing issues.

Bruno said he's hoping the program will prompt discussion among Maine's citizens and help voters make more informed decisions.

The opening program features Bruno leading a discussion with state Rep. Stephen Bowen of Rockport on the topic of Gov. John Baldacci's school consolidation plan. Bowen, a Republican, is offering an alternative.
