PITTSFIELD — Jenny the donkey has finally been corralled after more than a month of freedom.
The donkey had been living in the woods since she bolted from Mary’s Gardens farm on the Higgins Road Jan. 18, though she came back daily to feed. The donkey eluded would-be capturers as the state and national media covered the story.
On Wednesday Jenny followed Karina Lewis, a “horse whisperer” from Corinna, into a semi-enclosure made of snowbanks and bits and pieces of fencing, then watched as the fourth side was constructed, trapping her.
Lewis said the donkey is in good health and calm.
