Organic farmers conference canceled

By Morning Sentinel Staff Report March 16, 2007 11:49 AM

UNITY — The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association’s annual Spring Growth Conference scheduled for Saturday has been canceled due to the impending storm.

Funds will be mailed back to those who pre-registered, according to the association’s website mofga.org.

The conference was to include scientists and other global warming and agricultural experts to provide an overview of climate change issues and provide farmers with practical alternatives to reduce carbon emissions.

The gardeners association hopes to hold the same conference at next year’s annual conference.

For more information log onto the association’s website or call 568-4142.
