SKOWHEGAN — Improved access to broadband Internet service and technology-related niche industries are among the factors that could drive a new Somerset County economy, business and community leaders were told Friday.
Some 50 people were on hand at the Skowhegan Community Center as the Somerset Economic Development Corporation unveiled its ongoing plan for the county.
Higher education centers, targeted workforce development, transformation of declining industries, value-added products and tourism also were identified as opportunities.
