Plum Creek submits new plan

By Portland Press Herald Staff Report April 27, 2007 11:31 AM

Plum Creek today submitted a revised plan for a resort and housing development in Maine's Moosehead Lake region, after earlier versions drew opposition from environmental groups.

The Seattle-based timber company said it has made "substantial changes" to its plan. The company is still proposing to develop 975 house lots, but it says it has increased the amount of land to be conserved and reduced the amount of shoreland development.

Maine's Land Use Regulation Commission will now review the plan. The company's application may be viewed online at www.plumcreekplanmaine.com.
