Alfred disaster center opens

ALFRED — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a disaster center here to assist homeowners and business owners whose property was damaged by the Patriots Day storm.

The center at 5 Swetts Bridge Road is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

FEMA urges affected individuals to first register for assistance before visiting the center. Registrations may be made by telephoning toll-free 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week, or online at www.fema.gov.
