Students from schools in Fayette and Wayne will receive training about how to bicycle safely next week.
Bicycle safety presenters from the Bicycle Coalition of Maine will visit the following schools Fayette Central School, Tuesday, and Wayne Elementary School , Wednesday.
A presenter will spend the day at each of the schools, going from classroom to classroom. Students will learn everything from the correct way to wear a helmet to important rules of the road such as bicycling on the right side and stopping at stop signs.
“This award-winning program has proven to be very effective at teaching students how to avoid getting into bicycle crashes,” said Jeffrey Miller, executive director of the Bicycle Coalition of Maine . “We have taught more than 75,000 students across Maine with our team of highly trained instructors.”
