ALFRED — Jury selection in the trial of a South Portland man accused of murder began today in York County Superior.
Huy Van Nguyen, 34, has been charged with the 2005 fatal shooting of Dung Quoc Ngo, whose body was found on Oct. 15 in the woods in York, about 50 feet from the Maine Turnpike.
Ngo who lived in the Dorchester section of Boston, was reported missing by his family about three weeks earlier.
Nguyen was arrested without incident at his South Portland home, following a three month investigation. If convicted he faces 25 years to life in prison.
Two other men were also arrested with the charge have pleaded guilty to felony murder, which is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
They are both expected to be called as witnesses in Nguyen’s trial.
