FARMINGDALE— Initial on-scene tests found a suspicious white powder discovered at a local business was not a health risk, Farmingdale Fire Chief Dana Mealey said, in a news release.

According to the release, the substance — similar to starch — was not biological or volatile.

Mealey said the sample was at the state lab in Augusta for further analysis.
