AUBURN — A former Livermore Falls clerk pleaded guilty in Androscoggin County Superior Court on Thursday to taking more than $100,000 from a town account.
Justice Robert Marden sentenced Faith Nichols, 37, to six years in prison with all but 60 days of the sentence suspended.
Marden also ordered Nichols to perform 240 hours of community service and to pay back the money she took. So far, she has repaid nearly $57,000.
Auditors said the money was stolen from the town's sewer account over an 18-month period beginning in early 2004.
