WINDSOR — Voters met long enough today to postpone their town meeting to allow residents to pay their respects to former Fire Chief and Road Commissioner Jerome “Jerry” Whitaker, Selectman F. Gerard Nault said.

The business portion of the town meeting opened at 10 a.m., Nault explained. Whitaker’s funeral was scheduled for 11 a.m. Given the number of participants who wanted to attend the funeral, the meeting was postponed until Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Windsor Town Hall.
