HALLOWELL— This evening Row House — Hallowell's historic preservation organization — will present a preview of the proposed "Museum in the Streets" tour of the city.
The project, supported by the Hallowell Area Board of Trade, will lead people through a tour of historical points downtown and beyond.
The preview is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Hillside Terrace, a senior assisted living center, in the historic Thomas Bond House at 21 Warren St.
Gerry Mahoney, president of Row House, said, "We formed an editorial committee that has been looking at locations and sifting through photo archives. We'll have a map of proposed locations on display and some of the photos will be included on the signs."
The Museum in the Streets project recently has been accepted as part of the Maine Memory Network, a program of the Maine Historical Society Web site at www.mainememory.net to create a virtual tour.
