By Portland Press Herald Staff Report June 25, 2007 10:55 AM

WESTBROOK — A Portland man whose body was found at a Westbrook cemetery on Friday was shot to death, state police said this morning.

The cause of death was confirmed Sunday by the State Medical Examiner's Office after an autopsy on the body 58-year-old Kevin Foley, said Steve McCausland, spokesman for Maine's Department of Public Safety.

A city public works employee found Foley's body near a car at 8:25 a.m. Friday at the back of Woodlawn Cemetery, which is located on Stroudwater Street.

Foley was last seen leaving his Portland home around 7 p.m. Thursday. He was headed to Hannaford's supermarket. His wife reported him missing to Portland police Friday morning.

Beyond labeling the death a homicide, police released no further details of the autopsy results.

Anyone seeing Foley or his car during the night is asked to call Maine State Police in Gray at 1-800-482-0730.
