Maine Labor Commissioner Laura A. Fortman is part of a delegation of U.S. state labor officials visiting Taiwan this week on a mission to meet with labor, workforce development, and economic development officials to discuss issues affecting labor management and government.

The group was invited by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office with the goal of enhancing mutual understanding on cultural, economic, political and labor affairs. Taiwan has been an active participant in the National Association of Government Labor Officials.

The trip will be paid for by the government of Taiwan.
