AUGUSTA — The Maine College Republicans were recently recognized as the
“Best State Federation in America” at the 2007 College Republican National
Convention in Virginia.

This is the second time in three years the Maine College Republicans have
earned the recognition, according to a press release from the group. More
than 5,000 students on 24 Maine college campuses are members of the
group.

“This award is a strong testament to the hard work and dedication that
Maine College Republicans have demonstrated over the past two years,”
Nathaniel Walton, chairman of the Maine College Republicans, said in a
statement.
