FARMINGTON — Jake Lachance homered, tripled, singled and scored three runs as Augusta beat Portland 8-2 to win the 15-year-old Babe Ruth state tournament at Hippach Field on Sunday.
Augusta went 4-0 in the tournament and advances to play in the New England Regional, which will take place in Augusta, starting Saturday. Portland also advances since Augusta gets an automatic bid as the host team.
