Gov. John Baldacci and the state's top transportation engineers will give an overview of the safety of Maine's bridges this afternoon at a news conference.

The assessment is in light of Wednesday's bridge collapse in Minneapolis that occurred during rush hour and left four people confirmed dead and dozens of others missing.
