FARMINGTON — The Farmington Board of Appeals turned down a request from Rite-Aid to erect signs at their new store on Main Street that exceed
the size allowed under the zoning ordinance.
According to the Farmington Code Enforcement Office, 193 square feet of signage was proposed, which exceeded the 100 square feet allowed by the town
ordinance. The Appeals Board denied the application on the grounds that Rite Aid did not meet the criteria for hardship required for a variance.
The project is being engineered by BL Companies of Connecticut and construction is expected to start this fall.
