NORTH ANSON — School Administrative District 74 directors will consider staffing for Central School of New Portland during Wednesday’s meeting at the school.
Superintendent Regina Campbell said Thursday that she will recommend the school not be closed.
Central School will be left with only 29 students, after Highland and Lexington townships decided to send their combined 12 students to Kingfield Elementary School.
“We’re all looking at consolidation in a year or a year and one-half, and we’ll look at this at that time,” Campbell said. “My recommendation will be not to close the school.”
