The South Portland School Committee tonight will consider the appointment of Timothy Farrar as the new boys basketball coach at the high school.
The agenda for the 7 p.m. school board meeting includes consideration of Farrar, who has coached boys basketball at Fort Kent Community High School since the 2003-2004 school year.
Farrar would replace Tony DiBiase, whose contract to coach boys basketball was not renewed by the South Portland Administration. DiBiase coached basketball at South Portland for 17 years.
According to the University of Maine-Fort Kent Web site, Farrar also is an assistant soccer coach at the UMFK. A UMFK graduate and a native of West Paris, he is a physical education teacher in SAD 27.
