Members of the United States Navy precision flight team – the Blue Angels – flew over Brunswick Thursday preparing for a weekend air show that is expected to attract more than 200,000 people.
The Blue Angel jet engines could be heard blasting overhead in downtown Brunswick as pilots tried to acquaint themselves with the terrain.
John W. James, a spokesman for the Brunswick Naval Air Station, which will host the show, said the pilots would spend most of Thursday flying over the town as they map out flight routes.
Gates are set to open to the public on Saturday at 8 a.m. with flight demonstrations beginning at 10 a.m.
The Blue Angels will fly in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, but their performance times are not announced due to security reasons.
