PCA Great Performances has added the Ellis Marsalis Trio to its 2007–08 season. Marsalis, a master pianist, educator and patriarch of America’s first family of jazz, will perform with his trio at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 at Merrill Auditorium.

This performance fills the vacancy in PCA’s schedule left by the cancellation of the Marian McPartland Trio performance. Citing health concerns and travel restrictions recommended by her physician, McPartland canceled all tour dates, including an Oct. 12 concert with her trio at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium as part of the PCA season.

Tickets already issued for the McPartland concert are valid for admission to the Marsalis concert. Patrons preferring to exchange their tickets for another event on the PCA season or who seek a refund should contact PortTix, the box office at Merrill Auditorium, by Oct. 6.
