Selectmen discuss Sappi tax fund, culvert

By Morning Sentinel Staff Report September 24, 2007 02:36 PM

SKOWHEGAN — A galvanized culvert on the Waterville Road near T N T Auto Glass was discovered to be in poor condition during construction of a sewer extension this summer.

Selectmen, at their 5:30 p.m. meeting Tuesday night, will be asked to consider a change order to replace the culvert for an estimated $26,400.

The work could be finished within the next couple of weeks, according to Brent Dickey, superintendent of the pollution control plant.

In other matters, the board is expected to discuss revising the Sappi account set aside for economic development. Town officials say the town may be able to extend the time limit and increase the tax money that can be put in the account.
