By Morning Sentinel Staff Report October 04, 2007 11:36 AM

WATERVILLE — A 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday night on a Class C felony charge of criminal use of explosives, police said Thursday morning.

The boy, who has not been named yet because of his age, was found in possession of gunpowder, batteries and wires for a pipe bomb.

The bomb was detonated near the old gas works dam on Messalonskee Stream, Deputy Police Chief Charles Rumsey said.

Rumsey said how the case is to be handled will be up to juvenile case workers at the District Attorney’s Office.
