New England Cable News focusing on Hathaway Project

By Morning Sentinel Staff Report October 15, 2007 03:01 PM

WATERVILLE — New England Cable News, in its latest move to expand its presence in Maine, plans to broadcast tonight a segment on the Hathaway Project.

The segment, airing at 6 p.m. on channel 61, will provide an update on the $30 million project to renovate the former Hathaway shirt factory buildings and build 66 residential apartments.

Monday’s broadcast also marks the first time that the communities of Waterville, Oakland, Winslow and Fairfield will be served by NECN since Time Warner Cable in 2006 acquired the Maine holdings of Adelphia Communications Corp.

“We are widely distributed in Maine now, and we’ve worked very hard and long with Time Warner to have us continue to be rolled out,” NECN Vice President of News Charlie Kravetz said. “We have very much wanted to be in Waterville and the central Maine area.”
