The Portland City Council recognized the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation on Monday night for its recent donation to fix up Back Cove Trail.
Anthem gave the city $100,000 last month to repair erosion problems and complete other maintenance projects along the trail, according to a proclamation read by Mayor Nicholas Mavodones Jr.
Work will begin in November on the 3.5-mile waterfront loop, which attracts more than 250,000 walkers and runners each year.
