Falmouth turnpike traffic may be delayed

By Portland Press Herald Staff Report October 19, 2007 11:04 AM

The southbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike over the Presumpscot River at mile 52 in Falmouth will be slow going this weekend, as repairs get under way at 9:30 a.m. today.

Contractors will place concrete barriers to secure the work zone this morning. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the weekend. But Maine Turnpike officials say it will be back to two open lanes by 6 a.m. Monday.

For more information, tune to the turnpike's 1610 a.m. Highway Information Radio, which broadcasts updates all weekend long.
