Woman summonsed for unlawful sexual touching, and other police news

WATERVILLE — A woman Thursday morning called police to report that another woman at John Martin’s Manor had grabbed her breast through her shirt and twisted it.

An hour later, at about noon, the woman who allegedly did the grabbing admitted to police that she had touched the other woman’s breast, according to the report.

That woman was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of unlawful sexual touching.

IN WATERVILLE, Wednesday at 10:56 p.m., an assault report was investigated at Holiday Inn.

3:14 p.m., a counterfeit bill was reportedly passed at a credit union on College Avenue.

IN OAKLAND, Wednesday at 9:45 a.m., a juvenile was charged with possessing alcohol at the high school.

IN WINSLOW, Wednesday at 5:15 p.m., an assault was reported on Clinton Avenue, resulting in the arrest of a woman.

IN CLINTON, Wednesday at 12:40 p.m., a theft report was investigated on Spring Street.

IN CORNVILLE, Wednesday at 5:20 p.m., police served an order on Wing Lane.

IN FAIRFIELD, Wednesday at 10:07 p.m., a caller reported an assault at Good Will Hinckley.

9:13 p.m., an apparently intentional grass fire was investigated on Middle Road.

8:17 p.m., a caller reported a domestic disturbance at 289 Upper Ridge Road.

IN NORRIDGEWOCK, Wednesday at 8:12 p.m., police served an order at 745 Ward Hill Road.

IN SKOWHEGAN, Thursday at 12:57 a.m., a caller reported a disturbance on Island Avenue.

Wednesday at 7:53 p.m., a Hilltop Drive resident reported a burglary.

10:08 a.m., a caller reported a burglary at the Snack Shack on Waterville Road.

IN NEWPORT, Wednesday, at 11:37 a.m., police investigated a report of counterfeit money on Moosehead Trail.

Tuesday at 10:50 p.m., a disturbance was reported on Park Avenue.

8:30 p.m., police checked a report of a suspicious man on Moosehead Trail.

4:30 p.m., employees at Valero on Main Street called police when someone left without paying for gasoline.

3:14 p.m., employees at a Route 100 store called police when a driver left without paying for gasoline.

Monday, 4:50 p.m., there was a two-vehicle accident on Route 7.

Arrest

IN NEWPORT, Tuesday, at 12:50 p.m., police arrested James C. Smith, 46, of Newport on Center Street on a warrant charging Smith with unpaid fines.
