A conservative legal organization said it will sue the Portland School Committee if it does not drop a policy that makes prescription birth control available to middle schoolers at its next meeting on Wednesday.

The Washington,D.C.-based American Center for Law & Justice said it could file suit on behalf of parents with children in the school district within days of the meeting.
