NORRIDGEWOCK — School officials are hoping that someone will come forward with an appropriate name for the elementary school under construction next to Norridgewock Central School.

Principal Cecile Tobey said Monday that she sent out notices to residents of Norridgewock, Mercer and Smithfield last year, seeking ideas for the school’s name. Tobey said she will do so again with the school newsletter in December, hoping for a greater response.

Construction on the new school began this past summer. Schools in Mercer and Smithfield, as well as Norridgewock Central, will close following the current school year.
