GORHAM — Voters on Tuesday approved ballot items for road improvements and athletic fields in town.
The tally to authorize up to $3 million in bonds for road improvements was 2,138 votes in favor and 1,135 votes against. The total estimated debt service over 20 years is $1,575,000.
The town got the OK to spend up to $750,000 to finance the cost of one or more new athletic fields near Gorham Middle School by a vote of 1,848 in favor and 1,426 votes against. The project will be funded with money already in the town’s recreation impact fee account and surplus funds and will not involve any new borrowing.
