Health strategy session today for men

A Waterville family physician is the keynote speaker at Inland Hospital’s 10th annual Men’s Maintenance health fair today.

The free event will be held on from 4-8 p.m. at the Waterville Elks Lodge, 76 Industrial Street.

Dr. John Bonney from New Horizons Health Care will offer interesting, helpful aging tips in his talk "Betting on good health – How to stack the odds in your favor". His presentation begins at 6:30 pm.

Men of all ages can stop by to sample healthy snacks and learn a variety of strategies to avoid and manage chronic diseases and tackle obesity.

Free health screenings will be offered, including cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, pulmonary function, and glaucoma.

Kennebec EMS will provide a rollover crash simulator and Inland’s RehabWorks experts will host a Back School designed to demonstrate proper ergonomics for common tasks and computer work.

A putting contest adds a fun twist to the focus on the back. Dozens of exhibitors will be on hand with health information and local resources.
