Heating oil prices continue to rise in Maine, with the statewide average cash price up by seven cents since last week, at $3.17 per gallon. That’s 97 cents higher than last year at this time, according to the latest survey by the Maine Office of Energy Independence and Security.
Within the state sample, the lowest actual heating oil price of $2.99 per gallon was in southwestern Maine. The high price of $3.30 per gallon was in the north.
The statewide kerosene price average was up almost a penny since last week, at $3.56 per gallon. That’s 93 cents higher than last year at this time. Propane for domestic heating hit $2.90 per gallon, three cents higher than last week and 55 cents higher than last year at this time.
