Augusta man hurt
in 1-car corner crash
Augusta — A single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning sent an Augusta man to the hospital.
Michael Foss, 52, was taken by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with injuries to the lower extremities, police said.
The emergency call came in at 7:50 a.m.
Police said Foss was traveling west on South Belfast Avenue in a 2000 Dodge van. He apparently fell asleep behind the wheel, they said, and went off the road on a sharp corner.
