WINSLOW — School Union 52 decided to stay within the Union to select a interim superintendent, tapping Winslow Junior High School Principal Hugh Riordan for the position.

The Union 52 board gave unanimous support to Riordan at its Thursday night meeting.

Riordan will replace Elaine B. Miller, who announced in August her intention to resign effective Dec. 1. Miller had served as Union 52’s top education official since July 2001.
