State identifies victim of Topsham crash

TOPSHAM — The State Medical Examiner has identified the man killed in a car crash Nov. 23 on Route 196 as Corey R. Stutheit, 19, of Topsham.

Stutheit was killed when the vehicle he was driving near the Topsham-Lisbon border crashed and burst into flames shortly before 1 a.m.

Stutheit died despite efforts by a bystander and fire and police workers to rescue him, police said.

The accident remains under investigation by Topsham police assisted by the Brunswick Police Department’s accident reconstruction team.
