NORRIDGEWOCK — Injuries were minor late Friday morning in a near head-on collision on U.S. Route 2, less than a mile from the downtown intersection with Route 139.

Wilfred Dodge, a Somerset County sheriff’s deputy, said that John Rinaldi, 24, of Gray lost control of his Ryder truck rounding a corner, as he drove east. Tiffany Stebbins, 22, of Norridgewock could not avoid slamming into the Ryder in her 1998 GMC pickup, Dodge said.

“He was in their lane completely when the accident occurred,” Dodge said.

Dodge said that Rinaldi complained of rib pain. Stebbins and her male passenger Leslie Ridley, 26, suffered neck and back pain while two young children in the truck were not injured, Dodge said.
