Several Portland public school students have been selected to participate in Maine’s All-State jazz, band, orchestra and chorus festivals this year, school officials said today.

The Maine All-State Jazz Festival was held last week in Scarborough. The band, orchestra and chorus festivals will be held May 15-17 at the University of Maine in Orono.

Dominic Sbrega, a Deering High sophomore, was invited to perform at the jazz and orchestra festivals.

Alexandra Gribizis of Deering High and Marie Genova of Portland High also will perform at the orchestra festival.

Nick Brown, a Deering High freshman, and Grace Batsford, a Portland High senior, were invited to perform at the All-State Band Festival.

The following students are members of the Maine All-State Chorus: Aaron Peisner and Eileen Hanley of Portland High; and Karl Nordli, Bethany Bragdon, Alexandra Wilkins, Jenn Rothbart, David Barber-Callaghan, Jeremy Turner and Ishah Price of Deering High.
