AUGUSTA — Mayor Roger Katz will host another in his series of public meetings with city residents Saturday at Lithgow Library 10:30 a.m.to noon, Katz announced.

“These monthly sessions give me the opportunity to hear from Augusta residents about anything and everything that might be on their minds concerning city government and Augusta’s future,” the Augusta mayor said in a prepared statement. “I have been really happy with the turnout over the course of the last year. The library provides and informal and comfortable setting where folks can just come down and chat.”

Starting his second year in office, the Augusta mayor had promised during his election campaign to regularly hold what he called “town-square meetings” to give members of the public a chance to talk with him informally.

Katz said the beginning of the new year is an important time to hear from the public since the council will begin to focus on its annual goal-setting process.

“A top priority for me will be to work on revitalization of our riverfront and downtown,” he said. “I am particularly interested in hearing any ideas people have on how we go about that.”
