WEST FARMINGTON — Local, county, and state police officers, including
trained negotiators, converged Tuesday night around a home where a woman had allegedly threatened to commit suicide with a gun and refused to let anyone in.
The woman was intoxicated when she told a friend she wanted to harm herself.
The friend then called 911 at about 5:30 p.m., according to Farmington
police Lt. Jack Peck.
After three hours of negotiating, with officers positioned around the house,
she eventually allowed Peck and Detective Marc Bowering inside the Dunham
Road home. No gun was found, Peck said.
