With the cold weather and high cost of heating fuel making it difficult to stay warm this winter, the Freeport/Yarmouth Regional General Assistance Office is accepting donations to assist fellow community members. Freeport Community Services also is accepting donations for its fuel fund.

The elderly and those with fixed and low incomes have been particularly affected by high heating costs this season.

Anyone who would like to make a donation or get more information should contact Johanna Hanselman, Regional General Assistance Administrator, 865-4743, ext. 120.

Donations should be made out to Town of Freeport/Yarmouth Oil Donation Program and sent to:
