A jury this morning found a Portland man charged with stabbing his girlfriend a year ago guilty of attempted murder and elevated aggravated assault.
Luis Pabon, 49, was arrested in the early morning hours of Jan. 8, 2007, and charged with repeatedly stabbing his live-in girlfriend Kelly Fusco, 39, with knife.
Pabon placed two emergency calls to police, who arrived at their Upland Avenue apartment to find Pabon outside and Fusco injured inside.
The jury came to a verdict in under two hours following the three-and-a-half-day trial at Cumberland County Superior Court.
Pabon is being held without bail pending sentencing, tentatively scheduled for late February or March.
