Firefighters contain Madison fire

By Morning Sentinel Staff Report February 07, 2008 11:58 AM

MADISON — Firefighters were able to contain a fire at a White School House Road business early Wednesday morning, Fire Chief Roger Lightbody said Thursday.

Lightbody said the only damage to Timber Express was to the boiler room, which lost its ceiling and part of a wall. The boiler room is attached to the metal building, which houses the logging trucks, Lightbody said.

Firefighters were called out at 1:21 a.m. and quickly extinguished the fire that began in the large boiler, Lightbody said.

The chief said he met later in the day with owner Galen Carrier, who told him the boiler was operating fine. Lightbody said he does not know the cause of the fire.
