AUGUSTA — The Maine Women’s Lobby is organizing the delivery of apple-grams to legislators on Tuesday as part of an effort to encourage them to support paid sick days.
Apples, with messages attached, will be given to lawmakers to try to get them to support “An Act to Care for Working Families,” which would require businesses with 25 or more employees to offer at least five paid sick days.
A group called momsrising.org is sending messages to go along with the apples, according to the women’s lobby.
