RICHMOND — A theme has been chosen for this summer’s annual Richmond Days celebration.

The theme for Richmond Days 2008 is: “Wild Wave on the Kennebec: A Celebration of Richmond’s Tall Ships Heritage,” Mary E. Dow, a Richmond Days Committee member, said.

The annual summer festival of food and fireworks is planned for July 18 and 19.

An auction to raise funds for Richmond Days is scheduled for March 1 at the Old Goat Pub at 33 Main Street in downtown Richmond. Viewing begins at 6 p.m.; followed by a live auction at 8 p.m. with auctioneer Tim Acord. More items are still wanted for the auction.
