NEW GLOUCESTER — Two men face charges following an attack during a home invasion Friday, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Kennie, 18, of Cumberland, was charged with aggravated criminal trespass, aggravated assault and refusing to submit to arrest.

Collin Gebhardt, 19, of Gray was charged with aggravated criminal trespass, assault and violation of conditions of release stemming from a previous firearm charge.

Kennie is accused of striking 19-year-old Gard Griffin, the live-in boyfriend of the teenage girl, with a baseball bat. Gebhardt is accused of hitting Griffin with his hands.

The home invasion took place after the girlfriend told Kennie online that Griffin was treating her badly. She had asked for a ride and the situation escalated after Kennie and Gebhardt arrived, according to Lt. Donald Foss.
